Initially, the Victoria House
doesn't have the feel of a resort in the usual sense and one soon realizes
that it is a complete and total retreat, free from the boundaries and
pressures of day-to-day life and renowned as one of the best bare-foot
resorts in the region. Nestled among tall
swaying palms on white sand beaches with an ambiance of relaxation, privacy
and casual elegance the resort offers all the services of a luxury hotel
without the formalities.
The accommodations are varied and sure to please you. Surrounded by ten
acres of tropical flowers and fauna are Plantation rooms and suites,
charming Palapa Casitas and three private Villa's, all fully air-conditioned
and most with beach views.
With only thirty-five accommodations, Victoria House is small and exclusive
and has retained the casual ambiance and outstanding staff that make it a
true Belizean experience. All of the Casitas, Plantation Rooms and Suites
and private Villas are located in lush tropical gardens with tall swaying
palm trees and sweeping views of the reef and white sand beach. Some
accommodations such as the villas and Rainforest Suite are just steps from
the Caribbean, while the Plantation rooms and Casitas are set slightly
further back and offer a choice of either upper or lower guest rooms, all
have beach views.
STATE ROOMS:
The plantation style building
is home to the State Rooms. Elegantly furnished and located on the second
floor of the hotel they are accessed by a wrap-around shared balcony and
offer tropical garden, beachfront swimming pool and patio views. All rooms
are air-conditioned with mini-bars for your convenience..
CASITAS:
Greet a stunning
sunrise from the private verandah of charming thatch-roofed casita. Each one
is decorated with locally handcrafted mahogany beds draped in custom
mosquito netting allowing you to enjoy the cool evening breezes, for those
that prefer air-conditioning each Casita is centrally cooled. Facing the
Caribbean there are ten units facing a white sand beach and a wide expanse
of verdant lawn and bougainvillea. The Casitas are available with a queen or
two singles beds in each cottage.
PLANTATION ROOMS:
Eight Plantation
Rooms are located in two unique buildings facing the beach surrounded by
tropical bougainvillea and hibiscus filled gardens and tall swaying palms.
Each room features a private entrance and verandahs with lovely views of the
pool and beach. All rooms have plantation style interiors with either a
queen or king size bed draped in custom-made linen canopies. Another six
Plantation rooms are available in the villas and main hotel. All Plantation
Rooms are fully air-conditioned.
TOWER SUITES: The
only one of its kind on the island located in Casa Azul; a villa on the
grounds of Victoria House. One enters the suite through a private entrance,
accessed from beach level leading to the second floor. Here is where the
oversized master bathroom of the suite is located; the bathroom boasts a
walk-in shower, double vanities and Jacuzzi. An open Mahogany staircase
winds up to the third level into the dramatic bedroom, sitting room area
featuring vaulted ceilings, king size four-poster Bamboo bed draped in a
romantic mosquito canopy. Both the bedroom and sitting area open to a
private verandah of the Villa offering panoramic views of the sunrise as it
breaks over the barrier reef. If desired the Tower Suite can also be
combined with the main level living room, dining room and kitchen.
RAINFOREST SUITES:
Rainforest
Suite, AKA The Honeymoon Suite: an individual Casita set approximately fifty
feet from the waters edge. The suite features a wrap around verandah fully
furnished with chaise lounge and sofas. The Mahogany French doors across the
entire front of the suite open the beach to the bedroom. The private Casita
boasts an oversized bedroom with a magnificent four-poster bamboo bed facing
the beach providing all the views of the Caribbean you could wish for. Local
art wall frescos of whimsical flora and fauna evoke a feeling of being in
the rainforest
PLANTATION SUITES:
Both
Plantation Suites, 16 and 12, are located on the second level of the main
building and offer a bright and spacious parlor with separate king size
bedrooms; the custom made Mahogany beds with luxurious down pillows and
tropical weight duvets are draped in our signature mosquito canopies. Each
suite has central air conditioning and is accessed by a wrap around verandah
that is shared by three Staterooms; from Plantation suite 16 there is a
garden view and from suite 12 there is a pool and beach view.
PRIVATE VILLAS:
There are three private villas
on the grounds of Victoria House; a one level two bedroom house, a
Plantation style three bedroom villa and a three level, five-bedroom house
with a private swimming pool overlooking the beach. All deluxe villas offer
the utmost in privacy and convenience and are located on the beachfront.

Around The Grounds
A lovely beachfront swimming
pool is the perfect gathering place to relax, indulge in a fresh seafood
lunch and soak up some island sunshine.
A Victoria House wedding is the fantasy of a lifetime. In today's busy
world, planning a wedding can take such enormous effort that the idea of
"eloping" and marrying on a tropical island can be very appealing,
especially when it takes place in the romantic setting of Victoria House.
Restaurant Services
The restaurant at Victoria
House is renowned to be one of the best in the region, newly appointed
Executive Chef Amy Knox was recently awarded the "Best Chef 2003" and winner
of "Tastes of Belize". There are three different options for you to choose
from depending on the time of day and ambience you want.
Restaurant Palmilla overlooks the pool and the beautiful Caribbean; it
is fully air-conditioned for those rare occasions when the weather does not
cooperate! Casual for breakfast and lunch yet candle lit in the evenings,
Palmilla offers a full a la carte menu created by our award winning chef Amy
Knox.
Admiral Nelsons Beach Bar
is
a lovely Belizean style Palapa thatch roof
bar and casual dining verandah. Only a few feet from the waters edge and
pier it is the prime spot to watch divers and fishermen return with their
catch of the day and their tall tales of the one that got away.
The Poolside patio is perfect for al fresco dining, serving
breakfast, lunch and dinner the patio is located just outside the
restaurant. Offering the same magnificent views as Palmilla makes it a
favorite for lunch. |
