duPlooy's is a small Jungle Lodge 10 miles from the town of San Ignacio , located on the Macal River , surrounded by lush vegetation and a canopied walkway.  From 2 story cottages and single level bungalows, to Jungle Lodge rooms and single room rentals at the Guest House, duPlooy Jungle Lodge offers a variety of accommodation types, with something to meet every ones needs. duPlooy's "La Casita" - This 2-story cottage with wraparound porches upstairs and down, is romantic enough for your honeymoon or roomy enough for your whole family. Appointed with king size beds, whirlpool bath upstairs, big tub downstairs, coffee makers, fridge, and an incredible view. A great accommodation option to share with your friends; there are private entrances for each level.

Bungalow Cottages
- Large individual cottages with king size beds and private porches.  Perfect for couples and are not only very comfortable, but are lovely rooms as well.

Jungle Lodge Rooms
- Large Rooms with 2 double beds, private porch and large bathroom with shower. Families or friends traveling together may want to stay in our Jungle Lodge connecting rooms - a large room with porch connected by a bath to a smaller room.

Pink House Guest House
- Rent a room or the whole house. With 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, large living room and screened porch, it's perfect for families, groups or individuals on a budget.

Around The Grounds

There are plenty of activities right on the premises - swimming in the pristine waters of the Macal River , relaxing on a beautiful sandy beach, canoeing, riding or visiting adjacent Belize Botanic Gardens.

Bird watching can be done in style right from our deck, and observation is enhanced when using our 200 feet canopied walkway and the bird blind in Belize Botanic Gardens. Take a leisurely walk about the property on guided hikes or night walks.

The Deck at duPlooy's is well known for its "Hangover" deck/bar, which hangs out over the bush looking down into the Macal River. This is a perfect spot for discussing the day's adventures, evening star gazing or early morning bird watching.

Belize Botanic Gardens, right next to duPlooy's is a 45-acre garden, which was started in 1993. There are a several miles of trails, a small hardwood forest area, a Mayan area complete with a typical hut and plants that are still being used by the Maya; a pond featuring aquatic plants of Belize; palm, sustainable forest and tropical fruit projects for demonstration and economic purposes and an orchid house featuring nearly 200 species of native Belizean Orchids.

Restaurant Services

This is a good place to wander about on your own, with a field guide or to have a guided tour. There are many birds and small animals as well as plants and a bird blind at the pond for easy viewing.

Jungle Lodge Dining Room - A simple wood and stone structure next to the deck, where lunch and dinner are served. Dinners consist of Soup, Salad, Choice of two Entrees, two vegetables, homemade bread, dessert, coffee and tea. Lunch can be a picnic, in the dining room or a voucher for a local restaurant.
