The Lodge at Chaa Creek

Chaa Creek offers a unique rainforest adventure in natural and safe surroundings. Situated in a 330-acre private nature reserve, it is well staffed and features spacious lawns and manicured walkways surrounding the cottages, dining and recreational areas.

The miles of reserve trails are well maintained, yet offer an exciting view into the rainforest environment. There are no dangerous animals in the Macal River, which is only a short walk from the cottages and provides swimming and canoeing.

Guests can interact with nature by exploring the river and miles of well-maintained trails, Mayan temple sites, and through activities such as hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking and bird watching. Wildlife abounds, and some 250 species of birds have been sighted within the reserve.

The dining room and bar, like the cottages, are constructed from local hardwoods and thatched with bay leaf palm. The cuisine features a delicious mixture of Caribbean , Mexican and Belizean dishes. Our large, airy restaurant also features a temperature controlled wine cellar.

The Conference Center lends itself to a variety of uses from meetings, workshops, seminars, wedding and parties, and provides support for audiovisual displays. It can accommodate a maximum of 50 people seated at conference tables, while 100 people can be seated auditorium-style.

Although Chaa Creek is the ideal place to relax in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, guests are encouraged to take part in a wide range of daily activities including walking, bird watching and swimming.

Chaa Creek also offers additional activities such as canoeing, mountain biking, guided tours of the Natural History Center, Butterfly Farm, archaeological sites and the nearby Rainforest Medicinal Trail, and horseback riding along miles of private reserve trails.

Students and visitors can get a fascinating overview of Belize's archaeological, cultural and natural wonders.
