Chaa Creek offers a
unique rainforest adventure in natural and safe surroundings.
Situated in a 330-acre private nature reserve, it is well
staffed and features spacious lawns and manicured walkways
surrounding the cottages, dining and recreational areas.
The miles of reserve trails are well maintained, yet
offer an exciting view into the rainforest environment. There
are no dangerous animals in the Macal River, which is only a
short walk from the cottages and provides swimming and
canoeing.
Guests can interact with nature by
exploring the river and miles of well-maintained trails, Mayan
temple sites, and through activities such as hiking, canoeing,
horseback riding, mountain biking and bird watching. Wildlife
abounds, and some 250 species of birds have been sighted
within the reserve.
Chaa Creek Cottages are set in lush
tropical gardens along the banks of the Macal River in the
foothills of the Maya Mountains of Western Belize. The
cottage compound, within the Chaa Creek Nature Reserve,
provides a perfect compromise between comfort and a true
wilderness experience. Each palm-thatched cottage has Mexican
tiled floors, large mahogany beds, original artwork and
private bathrooms with hot showers. Spacious sundeck verandas
allow guests to view wildlife and interact with nature.
The Macal River Jungle Camp, located
within the nature reserve a half-mile down river from the
lodge, features ten small bungalows, each on a raised platform
with airy peak-roofs and fully screened. The camp is set high
on the river's lush banks, close to the ancient Mayan ruins of
Tipu & Xunantunich.
The Jungle Camp is
designed for those people who enjoy rustic and remote
accommodations. Each bungalow contains two comfortable beds
with clean linens, pillows, towels and blanket.
Restaurant
Services
The dining room and bar,
like the cottages, are constructed from local hardwoods and

mixture of Caribbean , Mexican and
Belizean dishes. Our large, airy restaurant also features a
temperature controlled wine cellar.
Conference
Center
The Conference Center
lends itself to a variety of uses from meetings, workshops,
seminars, wedding and parties, and provides support for
audiovisual displays. It can accommodate a maximum of 50
people seated at conference tables, while 100 people can be
seated auditorium-style.
Around The
Grounds
Although Chaa Creek is the ideal place to
relax in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, guests are
encouraged to take part in a wide range of daily activities
including walking, bird watching and swimming.

such as canoeing, mountain biking, guided tours of the Natural
History Center, Butterfly Farm, archaeological sites and the
