The creation of the "Belize Cave and Wilderness Rescue Team" the National Rescue Team, by Ian in 1996 is based at the Caves Branch Jungle Lodge and has been tested and proven to be an intricate part of Belize Rescue and Relief as well as being recognized by the United States FEMA organization and is a member of USAR (Urban Search and Rescue).

While our guides are re-certifying twice each year, we open these training classes to general participants for an incredible, once in a lifetime training experience... training side by side with the national rescue team.
