About the Resort Xanadu Island Resort is located on Ambergris Caye, one mile south of the airstrip and downtown San Pedro, where restaurants and a shopping area are within walking distance. The Mayan ruins and Rainforests are just across the lagoon, where fishing and diving can be enjoyed. This beautiful beachfront property lies along the secluded southern coast of Ambergris Caye. The accommodations are Luxurious freestanding chalets, each individually located against the hillside or beach side, offering stunning views of tropical vegetation, and of the ocean that stretches from horizon to horizon. The room types include basic one-room studio suites, one-bedroom lofts with two bathrooms, two and three bedroom suites, all featuring air conditioning hot showers and some of them have Jacuzzi tubs.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrive in Belize

You are personally greeted at the International Airport by a representative of Adventures in Belize. Your representative will direct you over to the local airline desk where you will board your flight to San Pedro. In San Pedro you will be personally greeted by someone from the hotel and transferred to the Xanadu Island Resort. Take your time and check in, then head to your accommodations in a Studio, 1-bedroom, or Loft Suite, set with scented candles and chilled champagne. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Day 2:  Half Day Snorkel

Breakfast is on your own, then a Half Day (morning) Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley Snorkel tour; snorkel gear, park fees and water beverage is included.  Hol Chan is a spectacular underwater park that has become the most popular snorkel site in San Pedro. This site has some excellent coral formations and a variety of colorful fish. The second stop is Shark Ray Alley, home to the Nurse Sharks and Sting Rays. You return to the island around lunchtime. Your trip can also be arranged for an afternoon tour. Lunch and afternoon activities are on your own. Tonight you have dinner reservations at Casa Picasso which include appetizers, entree and desert. Alcoholic beverages not included. Casa Picasso is a restaurant not far from your hotel and is decorated in a colorful Caribbean bright yellow and blue motif.

Day 3:  Explore the Island

Breakfast is on your own. You have the day to yourself with a Golf Cart for all day island exploration. Take advantage of the $25US gift certificate from the Orange Gift Shop in town. Return to your hotel and soak in the freshwater pool. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Day 4:  Inland Jungle/Caving Adventure

Breakfast is on your own. Today you will get a Full Day inland tour to Ian Anderson's Caves Branch for the infamous Black Hole Drop Expedition. All transfers and flights included. You will need to bring along long pants, long sleeved shirts and well-treaded tennis or hiking boots and a backpack on the trip. You will also need a change of clothes. The Black Hole Drop tour is one of our most adventurous tours, consisting of hiking for about 1.5 hours into the jungle, then at the site of the sink hole, guests are harnessed and instructed on how to rappel. You then rappel into the 300ft deep hole to the floor of the jungle, where you will relax and have lunch. The guide then leads the group to the entrance of the massive cave where you can explore the outer portions of the cave and surrounding area. You return  to the lodge after the trip and head back to the airport for your flight back to San Pedro. Relax and enjoy dinner which is on your own.

Days 5:  Full Massage and Romantic Night Out

Breakfast is on your own. After yesterdays adventure tour, you must be tired and sore from all that hiking. So lie back and pamper yourselves today with a Full Body Massage for both of you in the privacy of your own room - then relax on the beach or by the pool (a well deserved day of relaxing and pampering after defying the Black Hole Drop). Tonight you have reservations for a romantic dinner for two at the Capricorn Restaurant, including a romantic boat ride to and from the restaurant that is located about 3 miles up the beach from town. You can enjoy dinner under the stars, overlooking the sea. Includes appetizer, dinner entree and a bottle of house wine (desert is not included).

Day 6:  Parasailing Tour

Breakfast is on your own. Adventure hits again with a Parasailing tour for both of you today. The tour starts in town, and you can arrange for this for either the morning or the afternoon. Lunch is on your own. Return to the hotel, relax and prepare for dinner on your own.

Day 7:  Free time to relax

Breakfast is on your own. Free day for yourselves... you can pretty much do anything you would like or have not done already!!! That can mean Anything!!! 

Day 8:  Departure

Breakfast is on your own. Check out and take a taxi from the hotel to the airport in town for your flight from San Pedro to Belize City for your next destination...
