The highlight of any honeymoon stay at Caves Branch is the popular and unique trip called the Overnight Cave Honeymoon expedition. This begins with an hour-long trek into the jungle, rappel down the famous Black Hole Drop and hike to the entrance of the nearby cave, where your guide will lead you for a short distance into the cave. From then on, the path is set out with markers, to the site where it has been set up with an air mattress complete with linen, mosquito netting, and a variety of snacks, champagne, and some surprises left to be discovered!!!! We can never tell you everything - that would be taking all the fun out of it. The trip returns the net day around breakfast time.

Caves Branch is an adventure lodge not only for singles, families and visiting adventure seekers but for those special moments such as honeymoons. Adventure is here to stay!!

Suggested Itinerary

Note: This Day to Day itinerary is only a suggestion. Daily changes can be made depending on the time of year you visit. Additional activities can be added upon request.

Day 1:  Arrive in Belize

You are personally greeted at the International Airport by a representative of Adventures in Belize. Your representative will direct you to the Van used to transport you to Caves Branch Lodge. Transfer time is approximately 1.5 hours. A stop at the zoo can be arranged if time permits. Zoo entrance fees are not included. Arrive at the lodge, and check in at the front desk. You are then shown to your accommodations. Buffet Dinner at the lodge that evening. At this time, you will meet the guide manager who will assist you with your tour organizing and go over the adventures in more detail.

Buffet breakfast at the lodge. The River Cave expedition is always the favorite tour chosen by families. This tour is a combination of cave tubing and hiking inside the main chamber, with exploration of the higher chambers in the cave which contain Maya artifacts, pottery and ancient Maya fire hearths. Your guide will describe a Mayan ceremony for you to better imagine the old inhabitants of the cave. This tour is a full day tour and includes lunch. Return the lodge and relax. Buffet Dinner at the lodge.

Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Leave the lodger for the Overnight Honeymoon Cave Adventure. This special trip begins with an hour long hike into the jungle where you will arrive at the site of the 300ft deep sink hole called the Black Hole. Your guides will help you harness and provide step-by-step instructions and demonstrations on repelling into the sink hole. The drop is exhilarating and adventurous. Lunch is set up at the bottom of the sinkhole by the guides. You will then hike to the entrance of the cave nearby and your guide will lead you a short distance into the cave itself. You will then follow the marked path into the depths of the cave to the site that has been set up especially for you in mind. The site is setup with candles, food items, snacks, champagne and other surprises!! For the rest of the story, you will have to experience it!! Sorry, we aren't telling!.

You return to the lodge sometime the next morning around breakfast time. Take your time at breakfast, relax and then enjoy the luxury of a full body massage for both of you. Today you can pretty much do whatever you would like - after that exciting night in the cave.....! Buffet dinner at the lodge.

Buffet breakfast at the lodge. The start to an early tour day begins at 5:30am when the tour van leaves Caves Branch. The drive to Tikal is a very scenic one, as you pass many villages and beautiful landscaped hills. Near to Tikal is one of the most beautiful lakes in the area of Peten Guatemala. This lake is known as Lake Peten Itza and is located near the city of Flores and several town are located on it's banks. The view of this lake is gorgeous and the road to Tikal is through beautiful jungle and you may just be lucky enough to see some wildlife on the road to the ruins. This tour includes breakfast and lunch, a specialty guide as well as your own Caves Branch Guide, and park entrance fees. The tour does not include the boarder exit fees which are payable at the boarder  immigration office. (US and Canadian passport holders do not require a visa to visit Tikal). Buffet dinner upon return to Caves Branch .

Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Today’s adventure will take you to the Blue Hole Horse Trails, a branch of the grand equestrian lodge of Banana Bank. This adventure offers you the opportunity to see the jungle in the most unique way - on horse back. You will have as your guides cowboys who enjoy teaching even the most inexperienced and first time riders the basics in riding techniques. This trip is a lot of fun!! Enjoy lunch at the lodger afterwards. Bring along your bathing suites for a swim in the river  or at the Blue Hole swimming area just down the driveway. Your driver will pick you up in the early afternoon and bring you back to Caves Branch. Dinner that evening is at the Caves Branch lodge.

Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Free day for either adding another tour which is not included in this package, visit the Blue Hole National Park on your own which is located within walking distance from Caves Branch, or swim in the Caves Branch River and relax for the day.
