Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Belize
You are personally greeted at the Belize International Airport by a representative of Adventures
in Belize. Your representative will direct you to the Van used to transport you to Caves Branch Lodge.
Transfer time is approximately 1.5 hours. A stop at the zoo can be arranged if time permits
(zoo entrance fees are not included) Arrive at the lodge, and check in at the front desk. You are then shown
to your accommodations. Buffet Dinner at the lodge that evening. At this time, you will meet the guide
manager who will assist you with your tour organizing and go over the adventures in more detail.
Day 2: River Cave Expedition
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. The River Cave expedition is always the favorite tour chosen by families.
This tour is a combination of cave tubing and hiking inside the main chamber, with exploration of the
higher chambers in the cave which contain Maya artifacts, pottery and ancient Maya fire hearths. Your
guide will describe a Mayan ceremony for you to better imagine the old inhabitants of the cave. This
tour is a full day tour and includes lunch. Return the lodge and relax. Buffet Dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Overnight Cave Adventure
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Leave the lodge for the Overnight Cave Expedition. This special trip
begins with an 1.5 hour long hike into the jungle where you will arrive at the site of the 300ft deep
sink hole called the Black Hole. Your guides will help you harness and provide step-by-step instructions
and demonstrations on repelling into the sink hole. The drop is exhilarating and adventurous. Lunch is
set up at the bottom of the sinkhole by the guides. You will then hike to the entrance of the cave nearby
and setup camp. Cave exploration is allowed and you then get to sit by the campfire and listen to the
guides tell stories of past trips, recount the tales of the ancient Maya that inhabited the cave, and
maybe even listen to the ghost stories!
Day 4: Waterfall Cave Expedition
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Leave the lodge for the Waterfall Cave expedition. This tour takes the
guests for a short hike to the cave entrance, and then another 10 minute hick to the site of the waterfalls
inside the cave. The guests then take the challenge of climbing through and over the waterfalls to the
top where you then hike through the cave passage to the back exit of the cave. Lunch is included in this
expedition. Return to the lodger around 3pm. Dinner that evening at the lodge.
Days 5: Horseback Riding and Night Jungle Trek
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Today’s adventure will
take you to the Blue Hole Horse Trails, a branch of the
grand equestrian lodge of Banana Bank. This adventure offers
you the opportunity to see the jungle in the most unique way
- on horse back. You will have as your guides cowboys who
enjoy teaching even the most inexperienced and first time
riders the basics in riding techniques. This trip is a lot
of fun!! Enjoy lunch at the lodger afterwards. Bring along
your bathing suites for a swim in the river or at the Blue
Hole swimming area just down the driveway. Your driver will
pick you up in the early afternoon and bring you back to
Caves Branch. Dinner that evening is at the Caves Branch
lodge.
We would recommend a night walk after dinner.
This leaves right after dinner and you get to put on headlamps and walk around the jungle surrounding the
lodge. Your guide will show you unique insects, night spiders, Tarantulas, bats, and maybe you will be lucky
enough to see a Coati Mundi, Ocelot or even the mysterious jaguar!! You will return to the lodge sometime
around 9pm.
Day 6: River Kayaking
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Leave the lodge for a day of River Kayaking on the nearby Sibun River. The
upper portions of this river is considered one of the most pristine in Belize. With Headwaters in the upper
Maya Mountains, this river flows past vast jungle areas, through rocky mountain juts and through the gorgeous
lush rainforest of the Sibun watershed. You may get to see some wildlife, colorful birds, hear the call of the
Howler Monkeys or maybe even catch a glimpse of a Jaguar on the banks of the river. Your guide is trained in
water rescue, so never fear! Lunch is included and return to the lodge is in the mid afternoon. Dinner that
evening at the lodge.
Day 7: Departure
Buffet breakfast then check out from the lodge. You will be transferred to your next exciting
destination in Belize...
