With adventures such as the Maya Ceremonial Cave which
explores the mysterious underworld of the former inhabitants and
where jaguar take afternoon naps, or slithering through the caves
that were once the ceremonial strongholds of the Maya and
tiptoeing through the sacred spots where fires burned, and ancient
rites were celebrated; all these make up the adventure that cannot
simply be told, but must be experienced. The adventures of the
maya world will create a whole new outlook on the people that
survived in the ancient jungle fortresses that will visit with
your guides. From Tikal to Xunantunich, from Cahel Pech to the
Maya tombs, history will live again!

Note: This Day to Day
itinerary is only a suggestion. Daily changes can be made
depending on the time of year you visit. Additional activities can

Day
1: Arrive in Belize
You are personally greeted at the
International Airport by a representative of Adventures in Belize.
Your representative will direct you to the Van used to transport
you to Caves Branch Lodge. Transfer time is approximately 1.5
hours. Arrive at the lodge, and check in
at the front desk. You are then shown to your accommodations.
Buffet Dinner at the lodge that evening. At this time, you will
meet the guide manager who will assist you with your tour
organizing and go over the adventures in more detail.
Day 2: Xunantunich and Cahal Pech
Maya Ruins
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Guests leave by van
for a tour of Xunantunich and Cahal Pech maya ruins. The
Xunantinuch site is located in the village of San Hose Succotz in
Cayo, while Cahal Pech is located just up the hill from the town
of San Ignacio. Lunch in town is included. Return the lodge late
afternoon and relax. Buffet Dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Tikal Full Day Tour
The start to any early tour day beings at 5:30 am when the
tour van leaves Caves Branch. The drive to Tikal is a very scenic
one, as you pass many villages and beautiful landscaped hills.
Near to Tikal is one of the most beautiful lakes in the area of
Peten Guatemala. This lake is know as Lake Peten Itzaa and is
located near the city of Flores and several towns are located on
its banks. The view of this lake is gorgeous and the road to Tikal
is through beautiful jungle and you may just be lucky enough to
see some wildlife on the road to the ruins. This tour includes
breakfast and lunch, park entrance fees, a specialty guide as well
as your Caves Branch guide. The tour does not include the boarder
exit fees which are payable at the boarder immigration office.
Return early evening for a buffet dinner at the lodge.
Day 4: Maya Ceremonial Cave Expedition
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Today's tour is the
Maya Ceremonial Cave Expedition. This tour takes the guests for a
short vigorous hike up to the site of a huge sink hole, where you
will than spend the day exploring. This Cave was a maya ceremonial
site and you can still see plenty of ceremonial pottery and human
remains. Lunch is included and this tour gets back to the lodge in
the mid afternoon. Buffet dinner at the lodge.
Day 7: Departure
Buffet breakfast, then check out
from the lodge. You will be transferred to your next exciting
destination in Belize...
