About the Resort
Glovers Reef is the smallest of three coral Atolls in Belize. Declared a Heritage Site by the United Nations
and a National Protected Area by the Government of Belize, Glover's Reef Atoll is located some 35 miles south
east of Dangriga Town.
It is made up of about five atoll islands, one of them being the family-owned island of
Southwest Caye, home to Isla Marisol Resort. The island is surrounded by glorious jade colored, crystal clear
sea, with the lagoon on the western side and the reef on the eastern side.
Isla Marisol has cabanas on the while sand overlooking the reef or creek. Their accommodations feature a well designed
cabana for two people sharing with a porch and hammock area. Charming and rustic, each cabana includes double beds, a
private bathroom, hot and cold water and daily housekeeping service. The rooms do not have air conditioning.
Guests have the advantage of diving, snorkeling and fishing right off the beach. The kitchen and dining room
is on the beachfront and serves some of the best seafood feasts anywhere in Belize. The catch is always fresh
and the cook caters to the guests' cooking requests for their catch (some fishing is included in the dive packages).
Fresh fruits and vegetables are always on hand and the meals are very tasty. The bar is located over the water and
is the place to be in the evenings after diving all day. Cold drinks are served at the bar and you can relax on
the deck with music in the background.
Please Note: Packages for Isla Marisol include boat transfers both to and from
the resort on Glovers Reef. Due to the distance from the mainland and duration of the boat ride, transfers
are set for Wednesdays and Saturdays only, therefore packages must begin on either one of these days.
