About the Resort Xanadu Island Resort is located on Ambergris Caye, one mile south of the airstrip and downtown San Pedro, where restaurants and a shopping area are within walking distance. The Mayan ruins and Rainforests are just across the lagoon, where fishing and diving can be enjoyed. This beautiful beachfront property lies along the secluded southern coast of Ambergris Caye. The accommodations are Luxurious freestanding chalets, each individually located against the hillside or beach side, offering stunning views of tropical vegetation, and of the ocean that stretches from horizon to horizon. The room types include basic one-room studio suites, one-bedroom lofts with two bathrooms, two and three bedroom suites, all featuring air conditioning hot showers and some of them have Jacuzzi tubs.

Suggested Itinerary

Note: This Day to Day itinerary is only a suggestion. Daily changes can be made depending on the time of year you visit. Additional activities can be added upon request.

Day 1:  Arrive in Belize

You are personally greeted at the International Airport by a representative of Adventures in Belize. Your representative will direct you over to the local airline desk where you will board your flight to San Pedro. In San Pedro you will meet your taxi driver who will transferred to the Xanadu Island Resort. Check in, then head to your accommodations in a Pool or Garden suite, or an Oceanfront Loft. It would be a good idea to head over to the Amigos Dive shop in town to arrange your dive times. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Being new in town, we recommend that you stay close to your hotel. You are welcome to have dinner at Rico's, located next door on the beachfront at Banyan Bay Villas. They offer a great menu to choose from as well as a good choice of wines. Try their Conch Ceviche for the appetizer and for desert - the Mortal Sin (you will need to confess this!).

Day 2:  Two-Tank Reef Dive

Breakfast is on your own - you may want to try having breakfast at the "Monkey Bites", located just north of Xanadu. They have a good selection of morning specials. Your trip today will be a two-tank reef dive with park fees and equipment rental included. Return to the hotel, relax. Lunch and dinner is on your own. Options for lunch are "Mickey's Place" on Middle Street, or "Pauley's Pizza" - they both have great lunch specials everyday. For dinner, you can try out "Tastes of Thailand", near Xanadu Or, "Carumba", on Middle Street, they offer excellent seafood and local cuisine.

Day 3:  Two-Tank Reef Dive

Breakfast is on your own - a good breakfast option to try is "El Divino" located at Banana Beach Resort, south of Xanadu. Your trip today is another two-tank local reef dive with park fees and equipment rental included. Return to you hotel and relax before dinner, which is reserved for you at Casa Picasso. Dinner includes appetizer, dinner entree, and desert. Wine or other drinks are not included.

Day 4:  Half Day Snorkel

Breakfast is on your own - we recommend for today's breakfast, trying out "Ramon's Village". This restaurant is on the beachfront near their totally exotic pool. This gorgeous surroundings will wake up that appetite!!  Today you can arrange for a trip of your choice. This trip is not included in the package so it will be additional to the package. We would recommend a snorkel trip to Mexico Rocks or Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. Lunch suggestion would be at the "Blue Water Grill" at the Sunbreeze Hotel. Elevated above the beach with a great view of the sea, offering a wide menu. For dinner on your own tonight, try El Patio, or Elvi's Kitchen in town - yum!!

Day 5:  Departure

Breakfast is on your own. Check out and take a taxi from the hotel to the airport in town for your flight from San Pedro to Belize City for your next destination...
